On Tuesday afternoon June 7th the Laurel (81), Delmar (74), Sharptown (14), along with Rescue Company (71) and SCEMS (102) were alerted for a structure fire on Watson Road. A firefighter who lived in the area arrived on scene to find a fire in the mulch outside the residence and spreading. With no hose available, buckets of water was taken from the pool to attempt to extinguish the fire. The fire was controlled enough by utilizing the buckets of water to keep extension from the home.

E 81-2 and E/T 1402 arrived on scene and extinguished the remaining hot spots. Firefighters set up PPV to clear some smoke in the house, and checked for any extension into crawl space. Delmar and Blades units were placed into service. The incident was placed under control shortly after. FM Office is investigating the cause of the fire. Asst. Chief Donnie Layton had command of the incident.
