Maryland Trooper 4 Alerted For MVC

On Friday August the 26th at approx. 1521 hours the LFD, along with SCEMS were dispatched to a MVC on Sycamore road and Fire tower road near Laurel. Command 81 with Chief Mark Sheridan arrived on scene first to find a two vehicle MVC. SCEMS and Laurel BLS arrived and began assessment of patients. It was determined by ALS that a patient would need to be transported by air and Trooper 4 was alerted. Rescue 81 arrived and crew assisted with patient packaging and securing the vehicles. E-4 arrived and assisted with landing zone. One patient was transported during this incident to PRMC, and an additional Laurel BLS unit obtained one refusal. Chief Sheridan placed incident under control at 1552 hours. While units were preparing to clear 81 was dispatched to a second emergency for a MVC with entrapment on Sussex highway. Chief Sheridan terminated command turning this incident over to DSP and units responded to second emergency. Last units were clear this incident at 1620 hours.
