Car Vs Tractor Trailer

On Wednesday evening February the 15th at approx. 2010 hours, the LFD and SCEMS were alerted for a MVC, on Sussex Hwy and Discount land road. Fire/EMS crews arrived on scene with a vehicle that had struck a tractor/trailer in the rear. It was entangled under the trailer and the operator of the vehicle was pinned. Rescue personnel removed the driver?s side door for extrication of patient, and EMS crews, along with Sussex county paramedics transported him to NMH with facial injuries. After removal of the patient Fire/Rescue personnel assisted with the removing of the car from under the truck, by using a winch and holmatro tool to pry it loose. The incident was placed under control at 2050 hours. Last units were placed into service at 2141 hours.
