LFD On Second Emergency In Delmar
Friday, March 3, 2006

On Monday morning February the 27th the Delmar Fire Department was alerted to a building fire on the Maryland side at Curves. Shortly after they were alerted again for a MVC on Sussex highway and Allens mill road. Command 74 advised Sussex dispatch to alert Station 81 Laurel to handle the MVC. At approx. 0950 hours the LFD, along with SCEMS 108 and 200 responded to the MVC and arrived on scene to find a pick-up into the rear of a truck. Chief Mark Sheridan established command of the incident. At this point the highway was shut down by DSP and Rescue personnel. The patient was rapid extricated from the vehicle by ALS, assisted by the Laurel BLS crew. The patient was transported to PRMC in serious but stable condition. Rescue personnel remained on scene, and the highway was restricted to one lane due to the large amount of grain on the roadway. Delmar was able to clear their previous incident and arrived on the scene with Rescue 74. The incident was then transferred to 74-20, and all 81 units were placed in service at 1043 hours.
