Level 1 MCI On Sussex Highway

On Sunday, January 29, 2006 at 1421 hours Station 81, Medic 102, & Trooper 2 were alerted for a MVC on Sussex Highway and Trussaum Pond Road. 81-Command responded with Chief Sheridan. Chief Sheridan arrived to find a multiple vehicle MVC. 81-16 (Asst. Chief Brittingham) was on location & advised command he had a total of 9 patients & confirmed entrapment of two patients. 81-16 began triage of the pts.
B-81 arrived on location and began care on the priority 1 patient which was still trapped in the vehicle.
Medic 102 assisted with triage. EMS 200 had medical command with Nanticoke Hospital as the control hospital. As additional EMS units arrived on scene the pts. were transported to PRMC & Nanticoke hospitals.
A total of seven patients were transported and two patients refused service.
Command placed the situation under control at 1456 hours. Last unit cleared the scene at 1548 hours.
Shortly after all units cleared the scene Station 81 and Medic 102 were dispatched to a Priority 1- Gunshot, just east of Laurel.
