Logging Truck MVC causes US 9 shutdown - County Seat Highway

On 08 Sept 2004, at approximately 12 PM, Station 81 was alerted for a motor vehicle collision. Ambulance B-81 responded with career EMT Deery and EMS Lt Condon. Ambulance arrived on scene, to find a logging tractor trailer, lost his load after striking a smaller pickup truck. EMS Lt Condon advised Heavy Rescue 81, with ENG Capt Schweitzer as officer, on scene with 3 priority 3 patients and major clean up for fuel leakage. Rescue 81 arrived on scene, assisted the EMS crew and started clean up. B-81 transported 1 priorty 3 pt to Nanticoke Memorial and received 2 patient refusals. Rescue 81 turned road conditions over to DelDot and returned to station at 1249 PM. US 9 remained closed for 5 hours plus, for clean up of debris.
