On October 30th at approx 1040 hours the LFD along with SCEMS were dispatched to a MVC on county seat highway east of sussex highway. Fire Chief Mark Sheridan responded in command 81 and arrived on scene first to find a single motor vehicle crash. Chief Sheridan is advised by PD units on scene of a priority 4 patient. SCEMS 102 along with Ambulance B-81 arrive and Medic advised command that the patient was showing some activity on the monitor and they were going to work the patient. Command then advised incoming Rescue 81 with Asst. Chief LeCates to prepare for extrication. Ambulance A-81 and SCEMS 107 arrive and block the east side of the scene from incoming traffic.Rescue 81 arrives and vehicle is stabilized and a door pop was put in place to gain access to patient. After further review and orders from Doctor the patient was pronounced on scene. E-3 and E-4 arrive and assist manpower on scene with extrication and clean-up. Command placed incident under control at 1130 hours, with last units clearing scene at approx 1200 hours. Fire Police remained on scene with DSP fatal investigation team.
