LFD Alerted For Farm Machinery Fire

On March 14th the LFD was alerted for a Fire involving farm machinery on Portsville road near Laurel. Asst. Chief Steve Brittingham responded in Command 81 and arrives on scene to find a wagon fully involved. Brush 81 arrived and is directed down a long dirt lane and makes their attack. Engine 4, Rescue 81 and Engine/Tanker 5 all were advised to stage on the hard top road due to extreme off road conditions. Brush 81 and one half of Engines 4 crew extinguished the fire to the wagon. Asst. Chief Brittingham placed all other units in staging in service. Brush 81 and Engine 4, along with Command 81 were in service shortly after.
