LFD Assists on Trailer Fire - Delmar

On Monday April 18th at approx. 1805 hours the LFD was alerted on a box assignment assist with Delmar and Sharptown Fire Departments for a Trailer fire on Ralph?s Road. 74 Command arrived on scene first with Fire Chief Jeff Kowalski and found a Trailer with nothing evident from the exterior. Engine/Tanker 81-5 arrived first on scene with Deputy Chief Jeff Hill. Chief Kowalski advised Hill of a smoke condition inside the trailer and to have his crew pull a hand line to investigate. Engine 1404 with Chief Billy White arrived and they assisted Laurel crews with ventilating the trailer. Interior crews found no fire in residence just a smoke condition, however at one point fire flashed over and the ceiling collapsed and smothered the remaining contents and burning itself out. Delmar E/T 74-2 arrived and crew assisted with overhaul of the trailer. Additional units arrived and staged or assisted with overhaul on scene. Chief Kowalski placed incident under control at 1827 hours. Last units were in service at 1944 hours.
