Motor Vehicle Accident Upgraded to Fully Involved Vehicle Fire

On June the 27th at 1710 hours Station 81 was alerted for a MVC on US Route 9 just east of US 13. While responding Sussex E.O.C advised Command (Chief Sheridan) & A-81 that it was reported as a Property Damage Accident only with smoke coming from the vehicle.

Command arrived on location to find a work van fully involved on the road side. Engine 4 arrived on location with Deputy Chief J. Hill and Engine 3 arrived on location with Asst. Chief Givens. The crew from both engines pulled a 1 ¾ hand line and suppressed the fire rapidly. No injuries were reported.
