LFD Alerted For Trailer Fire

On Tuesday August the 2nd at approx 1738 hours the LFD, with Blades and Sharptown Fire Departments, along with SCEMS (102) were dispatched to a Trailer fire on Discount land road northeast of Laurel. Captain Glenn Adams arrived on scene and found an abandoned trailer well involved. Engine 81-4 and E 71-9 arrived and crews begin extinguishment. Additional 81 and 71 units would arrive on scene and provide assistance. Sharptown units were diverted to station 81 for cover-up. Firefighters extinguished the fire in approx. 14 minutes. The cause of the fire is believed to be from a down power line from a piece of heavy equipment that landed on the trailer causing ignition. Last units were placed in service at 1847 hours.

Units on Scene: Command 81, E-4 E-5, Rescue 81, A-81, Utility 81, E 71-9, Rescue 71, SCEMS 102. Engine 1404 at Station 81.
