Car VS Pole Causes Major Power Outage

On August the 11th the LFD and SCEMS responded to a MVC with a car into a pole. EMS providers
arrived and treated the injured patients. Rescue workers arrived and secured the scene, and Seaford road was shut down. The injured patients were transported to NMH with no life threatening injuries. LFD with the assistance from Del-Dot remained on scene with the road closed until the power company was able to secure the power lines. LFD units were placed back in service in approx. 1 hour. The road remained closed for an indefinite amount of time. Several businesses and homes were effected by the incident and remained without power for approx. 1 hour.
