On Tuesday February the 20th at approx. 1200 hours, the LFD was alerted for an Electrical fire at the Bargin Bills Flea Market. Chief Mark Sheridan arrived in Command 81 and established Bargin Bills command. Chief Sheridan found that a back hoe had cut the main electrical line to the fire pump room for the buildings fire suppression system, causing an explosion of the transformer. The contractor had extinguished the fire in the pump room with an extinguisher. Delmarva Power was contacted immediately to assure the electrical hazard was under control. This also created a light smoke condition in the main building, and as firefighters arrived they checked the Flea market for extension. No extension or damage was done to the main building, and the incident was placed under control at 1229 hours. Last units were back in service at 1305, turning the incident over to the power company.
