Trailer Fire On Hickman Drive

On Monday afternoon March the 13th at approx. 1610 hours the LFD along with Delmar and Gumboro Fire Departments were dispatched to a structure fire on Hickman drive. Deputy Chief Jeff Hill arrived on scene to find a deck connected to a trailer involved with fire spreading underneath the home. E-4 with Asst. Chief Steve Brittingham arrived on scene and was advised by command to place an attack line in service under the trailer. E/T 5 arrived and crews assisted with an additional hose line for overhaul. Command 81 placed all 79 units in service; Delmar units were diverted to station 81 for stand-by. Additional Laurel units would arrive and assist with overhaul. Command 81 placed the incident under control at 1643 hours. Firefighters contained the fire to the exterior of the trailer, damaging only the deck, and skirting of the home. Last 81 units were placed in service at 1700 hours.
