Stop?Drop, Cover Your Face?And Roll?

During Fire Prevention Week, the members of the Laurel Fire Department went to teach kids what fire safety is all about. A total of about ten members spoke to over 800 kids during the week.

The Laurel Fire Departments Fire Safety Program began with each child listening to a 15-20 minute speech, watching firefighters get dressed, and then teachers and students demonstrating Stop, Drop, & Roll. After the speech students are then taken outside.

Once outside they were able to blow the sirens, walk through the truck, and play with the fire house and spray water. Not only did each child and teacher have a good time, but also the members enjoyed being able to watch the smile on each child?s face.
