On August 5th at approx. 1339 hours the LFD was dispatched for a MVC at the intersection of Seaford road and Bethel road. Shortly after dispatch with numerous calls being taken on the incident, it was upgraded to a Rescue, and ALS was added along with Trooper 2.
Deputy Chief Jeff Hill arrived on scene and confirmed a rescue, and requested an additional Ambulance from 71 (Blades). BLS/ALS arrived and concentrated on a unconscious female subject trapped in the Pontiac. Rescue 81 arrived under the direction of Captain Tim West. Capt. West and crew went to work stabilizing the vehicles, and extrication of the unconscious female. The decision was made to pop the door and rapid extricate the female out to be air-lifted to PRMC. The patient was removed from the vehicle, placed into Trooper 2, and the incident was placed under control shortly after at 1418 hours.
Two patients were transported during the incident one ALS, and one BLS to NMH. Last 81 units were place into service by Deputy chief Hill at 1441 hours.
