LFD Alerted For Structure Fire

On October 25th the LFD was alerted for a structure fire on Laurel road just east of Sussex highway. Chief Mark Sheridan arrived in command 81 and found what appeared to be a chimney fire. E-2 arrived and crews checked the interior. Tower 81 arrived and set up to check the chimney area. Firefighters found that a malfunctioning furnace was the cause. Fire crews were on scene for approx. 30 minutes.
