Working Structure Fire - Johnson Road

On the ice cold morning of Jan 16th at 08:12 hours, LFD along with Gumboro, Millsboro and Medic 102 was alerted for a Structure Fire at 16110 Johnson Road, northeast of Laurel. Captain Dwayne Chaffinch responded as 81 Command. Chaffinch arrived to find a mobile home fully involved, with exposures to vehicles and outbuildings. Engin 81-4 arrived with Asst. Chief Tim Walker, who assumed Operations. Their crew attacked the fire from the A side as well as protecting any exposures possible. Eng. 81-2 arrived with Rescue Capt. Donnie Layton as Officer. They began an attack from the B side. Engine 79-1 arrived from Gumboro with Chief Greg Justice, who assisted in the attack. Eng. 81-5 arrived with Deputy Chief Mike Lowe who was assigned water supply. The mobile home was a total loss. Units cleared the scene at about 09:45 hours.
