Fire Dept. Honors Poster & Essay Winners - LFD

On Sunday afternoon the Fire Dept. welcomed the winners from the 2009 Fire Prevention Poster & Essay Contest held throughout the Fire District. Pres. Bill Hearn and Fire Prevention Co-Chairman Wendy Lowe conducted a very successful event for the children, their parents, teachers and principals. Approximately 80 people were in attendance. Presenters and speakers included Bill Tobin, Vice-President of the State Firefighters Assoc., Sally Stevenson, of the County Fire Prevention Committee, Biff Lee, Pres. of the County Firefighter's Assoc., Miss Laurel Courtney Hastings and Little Miss Laurel Morgan Gordy. Special thank you to Fire Dept. Chaplain Wayne Grier and the Ladies Auxiliary for the assistance they provided.
