MVC with Extrication on Cold Windy Morning - Sussex Hwy. & County Seat

On Sat morning at 10:18 hours LFD was alerted for an MVC with subject reported trapped at the intersection of Sussex Hwy and County Seat Hwy. Deputy Chief Mike Lowe responded as 81 Command. While en route Lowe was advised by Medic 102, Sacks & Bradley that they were on scene and there were at least three patients, one requiring extrication. Lowe immediately advised EOC to start two additional ambulances to the scene. Rescue 81 responded with Asst. Chief Jeff Hill as Officer. Eng. 81-4 responded from the Gerald Brown Sycamore Station with Asst. Chief Tim Walker as officer. Lowe arrived on scene and assumed Sussex Hwy. Command. Asst Chief Hill was assigned Operations and Asst. Chief Walker was extrication officer. Extrication was preformed and three patients were transported by Laurel EMS. EMS units from Blades and Delmar arrived and obtained patient refusals. Sharptown responded a unit to Laurel's station to stand-by.
