Man Injured in Cooking Fire - W. Eighth St

On Sunday evening 9/12 LFD, Delmar and Sharptown along with Medic 102 were alerted for a house fire in the 200 block of W. Eighth Street. Asst. Chief Jeff Hill responded as 81 Command. When responding Hill was advised that there was at least one subject injured on the scene. Hill arrived to find a 2 1/2 story house with light smoke visable. He established W. Eighth Street Command. Eng. 81-2 responded with Deputy Chief Mike Lowe as officer. It was determined that a fire had occurred in the kitchen. A male subject attempted to take a burning pan outside and received burns on his arms. He was transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. The fire was contained to the stove by a subject attacking the fire with a garden house prior to the arrival of the Fire Dept. Positive Pressure ventilation and salvage was established. Delmar and Sharptown units were returned. The fire was under control in about 10 ten minutes.
