Sycamore Substation Groundbreaking - Fire Tower Rd. Laurel

On Saturday June 4th at 1100 the Laurel Fire Department held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Gerald W. Brown Jr. Sycamore Substation. Master of Ceremony for the event was Ron Marvil. Welcome remarks were given by President Bill Hearn and Chief Jeff Hill. The Department was honored to have County Councilman Mike Vincent, Laurel Mayor John Shwed,Laurel Council Members Terry Wright, Don Phillips, Alan Schweitzer, State Fire Commission Tom Dicristofaro, Sussex EOC Director Joe Thomas, DVFA President Bill Tobin, SCFA 2nd VP Todd Reilly, SCEMS Director Robert Stewart, Miss Laurel Catlin Cook, Little Miss Laurel Gabrielle Oliphant, The Whayland Co. President Robert Wheatley, Delaware Architects LLC President Martin Dusbiber, Blades Vol. Fire Department Chief Earl Chaffinch and President Todd Reilly.
