Monday November 12, 2012 at approximately 9:12 P.M. Seaford Volunteer Fire Department, Blades Volunteer Fire Company, and Sussex Medic 107 were dispatched to a commercial structure fire at 407 High Street at Burton Brothers Hardware in Seaford. Command 87 arrived on scene with Deputy Chief Curt Purse and found a large two-story commercial building fire with fire showing from the front of the building on the second floor. Purse immediately requested a Truck Company assist from Laurel and an Engine / Tanker Assist from Bridgeville. Tower 81 responded with Asst. Chief LeCates and was positioned at the rear of the structure for aerial operations. Engine 81-2 responded with Deputy Chief Sheridan and the crew assisted with master stream operations on High St. Engine 81-3 responded with Captain Oliphant and was sent to South Pine Street to set up a draft from the Nanticoke River that would supply Federalsburg’s ladder truck on High Street. Units remained on the scene until 2 A.M assisting with operations. Responding Units: Tower 81, Engine 2, Engine 3, Utility 81.
