Faulty Furnace Panics Residents

On Sunday, February 2 2014, The Laurel Fire Department was alerted for an appliance fire. Engine Captain Brett Morris arrived on location and found a faulty furnace inside the pump room, with no obvious signs of heat or flame. Engine 81-2 arrived and crews were directed to check for any fire extension into the residence. Crews from Engine 81-4 arrived moments after and were advised to check for gas readings inside, finding none. Tower 81 responded and were advised to stage out on the roadway. Crews found no fire or extension into the home. Units cleared and the scene was turned over to the proeprty owner.
