Laurel Fire Dept. held its annual awards night on Feb. 13th. Ladies Auxiliary President Dixie Northam honored Sandy Steele as a 45 year member of the Auxiliary. The auxiliary also presented President Bill Hearn and Chief Mike Lowe with a generous donation to be used by the Fire Dept.
Awards for the night included. Samantha Lewis being named Rookie of the Year. Tim West was presented the Firefighter Service Award and Jay Myers was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dwayne Chaffinch became a Life member by attaining 20 years of service. Elmer Steele was honored for 45 yearsd of service. Dwayne Groton received an award for 25 years of service. Mike Calloway 30 years and Mike Lowe 35 years.
Eric Beyer was the top fire responder of the year and Becca West was the top EMS Responder.
