New Jersey Man Injured in MVC

On July 25th at approximately 08:00 hours the Laurel Fire Dept., Sussex County Medic 102 and 107 were alerted for a Motor Vehicle Crash at the Intersection of Sussex Hwy. And Laurel Road, in the parking lot of Carey?s Towing.

Capt. Tim Walker responded as 81 Command. Ambulance B-81 responded with EMS Capt. Jeff Hill on board. Upon arrival Walker found that a Van had not stopped at the intersection and traveling into Carey?s Parking Lot striking a Roll-Back Vehicle from behind. The driver was still in the vehicle.

Rescue 81 responded with Fire Chief Mark Sheridan as Officer. Walker ordered the crew of Rescue 81 to prepare for Extrication and assist EMS Crews. The driver was removed from the vehicle as transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital with possible head injuries.

Units cleared the scene in about 30 minutes.
