MVC in Town With Door Pop

On Valentines Day the LFD was alerted for a MVC in Town at the intersection of 4th and Willow Streets. Command 81 with Fire Chief Mark Sheridan arrived and found a two vehicle collision with side impact to the driver?s side door, of one of the vehicles. Ambulance 81 and SCEMS arrive and begin treatment of the injured driver. Rescue 81 arrived and crew goes to work stabilizing vehicle and preparing for drivers side removal of the door. Rescue workers pop the door and access is gained for patient removal. E-4 and E-3 crew provides lights and assistance with traffic. One patient is transported during incident and refusals were obtained from occupants from the other vehicle. Command 81 placed incident under control shortly after, and apparatus cleared scene turning situation over to Laurel Police Department.
