This years 11th Annual Fourth of July Celebration was another successful event; from the parade, carnival, vendors, to a spectacular fireworks display. Thousands of people enjoyed themselves.
The parade which lasted approximately an hour had over 100 entries. Several visitors were present during the parade including Senator Tom Carper and
Lt. Governor John Carney.
There were many events that were planned to last throughout the day. These included: a 5K race, car show, Mayor?s watermelon seed spitting contest, talent show, live music, a carnival, and other special events.
About 30 fire departments members were present to help out with the activities. A special ?thanks? to The Laurel Chamber of Commerce for there time in planning the event. Sharptown, Blades, & Georgetown Fire Departments provided stand-by crews for the evening. Everyone?s time & dedication was greatly appreciated!
