Maryland Trooper 4 Alerted For Serious MVC

On August 13th at approx. 2239 hours LFD along with SCEMS (102) were dispatched to a MVC at the intersection of Taylor Mill Road and Fire Tower Road. Asst. Chief Rob Givens arrived on scene first and found a two vehicle MVC with one priority 1 patient and one priority 3 patient. SCEMS and Ambulance A-81 arrived on scene and began patient care on the priority one female patient. Rescue 81 arrived on scene and assisted the EMS providers & setup the light tower. Asst. Chief Givens contacted Sussex Dispatch to alert Maryland Trooper 4 to the scene. B-81 arrived and also assisted with treatment of the patients. Command Requested EOC to dispatch Blades (71) to the scene with an engine crew to assist with the landing zone of Trooper 4. Engine 71-9 arrived and assisted with the landing zone. Two patients were transported during incident, one by ground and the other by Trooper 4 to PRMC. Asst. Chief Givens placed the incident under control at 2328 hours. Rescue workers remained on scene searching for a possible third patient. No other patient was found after a search of the corn field and surrounding areas. Last units were placed in service at 0109 hours, turning the scene over to DSP investigation team.
