On Sunday evening August the 14th at approx. 2015 hours the Blades, Laurel, and Seaford Fire Departments were alerted to a Building fire at Taylor Tackle just south of Blades. Blades Fire Chief Ron Fensick arrived on scene first and established Command. Engine 71-9 and E/T 81-5 arrived and placed two 1 ¾? hose lines in service. Interior crews encountered a smoke condition throughout the building but no fire. Firefighters used horizontal ventilation to clear the building of remaining smoke conditions. Additional Blades, Laurel, and Seaford fire units would and provide assistance with lighting or overhaul. Chief Fensick placed the incident under control at 2029 hours. It was determined that the fire flashed over, and burnt itself out on account of low oxygen levels in an air tight block building. The cause of the fire unknown at this time and is under investigation. Last Blades units were back in service at 2130 hours.
