On Sunday August the 21st at approx. 1139 hours, the LFD responded to a MVA on Sussex Highway south of Laurel. Deputy Chief Hill arrived on scene to find a single vehicle off the roadway with an odor of gas. Ambulance 81 arrived and treated an elderly female patient with no apparent injuries. Rescue 81 and Engine 4 arrived and checked the vehicle and assisted with traffic control. The Engine crew pulled a hose line as a pre-cautionary measure due to an odor of gasoline. EMS crews obtained a patient refusal, and Deputy Chief Hill placed the incident under control at 1158 hours. Firefighter remained on scene until the towing company could remove the vehicle from the area. Last units were back in service at 1258 hours.
