On August 20th and 21st the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department held their annual softball tournament to benefit the Chester Crozer Burn Center. This year was a very special one due to the fact that the SVFD was celebrating its 25th anniversary in sponsoring this event. On Sunday afternoon the Mayor of Seaford, Dan Short, with Fire Chief Doug Butler recognized the four teams that played in the very first tournament twenty five years ago. These teams were introduced by Mayor Short in the following manner; Seaford, Laurel, Blades, and Bridgeville Fire Departments. Two representatives of the Burn Center and a recovering burn victim were there to show their appreciation to the contributing Fire Departments. This event raises the largest amount of money donated to the Burn Center from a non-profit organization. A plaque was presented from the Burn Center to the SVFD for their continuing efforts and support. Mayor Short also recognized three LFD members as the only ones to actively play in all 25 years of this annual event. The three members are Clifford ?Biff? Lee, Randy Lee, and Ron Scott. Thanks to the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department and all their contributors for putting on another successful tournament. Congratulations to Little Creek Fire Company on winning this year?s tournament!
