Grass Fire Upgraded To Structure Fire

On Saturday March the 18th at approx. 1347 hours the LFD was alerted for a field fire on Seaford Road, just north of Laurel. Deputy Chief Hill responded in Command 81 and while enroute Sussex dispatch upgraded the incident to a Structure fire. Sussex then re-alerted station 81, along with Blades and Seaford Fire Department?s.
Deputy Chief Hill arrived on scene to find a shed involved, along with surrounding grass, with exposures to numerous vehicles and the residence. E-4 arrived and was advised by command to place their front pre-connect in service. E-3 arrived shortly after and the crew placed a second hose line in service.
Blades and Seaford units arrived and assisted with overhaul. Firefighters extinguished the remains of the shed and the incident was placed under control at 1446 hours. Despite the efforts of firefighters the shed was a total loss. Last fire units were placed in service at 1505 hours.
