Biff Lee named to Delmarva Firemen?s Association Hall of Fame

At the annual Convention of the Delmarva Firemen?s Association, which was hosted by the Millsboro Fire Company. The Delmarva Firemen?s Association named its 2006 Hall of Fame Inductees.

Laurel?s Biff Lee was accepted into the Hall of Fame this year. Biff is a Past President of the Laurel Fire Department. Biff joined the Laurel Fire Dept. on September 20, 1971 and was immediately active in all phases of the Fire Dept.

He has served as Rescue Lt. And was President of the Fire Department from in 1996 and 1997. Although, he may no longer be as active on Fire scenes as he once was Biff still plays a vital role by giving leadership to current officers. When things are not going well, Biff is one that current leaders can go to for guidance.

Biff was elected to the House of Representatives in 1990. Probably his greatest contributions to the Fire Service has been laws he has helped obtain passage of in Dover. Some highlights are:

1) Mandatory Smoke Detector Legislation
2) Increased penalties for over crowding in Places of Public Assembly.
3) False Alarm Legislation
4) Increase in Tax credits for Firefighters
5) Introduction of Texas Hold?em legislation
