LFD Member Honored as Fireman of the Year

In the January meeting of the Sussex County Volunteer Firemen?s Association at Carlisle Fire Department in Milford, our own Elmer Steele was honored as Fireman of the year. It was presented by the Association Fireman of the Year Committee for his hard work in the State and County Associations. The award was presented by County President Doug Butler and Mike Lowe.

Three more LFD Members were also recognized at the meeting for there Heroic efforts on a motor vehicle accident they encountered while off duty. Mark Sheridan, Todd Smith, and Jason Boyce were presented Medals of Honor. They were presented by the County Fire Chief?s Association President Doug Murray, County President Doug Butler, and past State Chief?s President Jim Watson.

Congratulations to all four of you as this is a great accomplishment for yourselves and the community of Laurel.
