Fire Destroys Garage
Wednesday, May 2, 2007

On 5-01-07 the Laurel, Delmar, and Sharptown Fire Departments were alerted for a structure fire at 32737 Bi-State Blvd south of Laurel. 81 Command with 81-18 (M. Lowe) arrived on location with heavy fire coming from a garage behind the home. Engine 81-2 arrived led by 81-21 (T. West) and placed a 2-½ inch line in service. They began to wet the surrounding vehicles and structures to reduce the chance of the exposures igniting. Truck-74 arrived led by 74-15 (J. Morris Jr.) and placed a 2nd hose line in service utilizing foam. Additional crews arrived and assisted firefighters with extinguishment and overhaul. Crews were on scene for approx 90 minutes. The state fire marshal (FM-11) was on scene conducting an investigation.
