MVC Leaves Two In Serious Condition

On Saturday evening December the 8th at approx. 1944 hours the LFD, along with SCEMS were dispatched to a MVC on route 24 in the area of the American legion.

Chief Mark Sheridan arrived on scene and found a two vehicle MVC with one subject trapped. BLS/ALS arrived on the scene and starting checking the patients for injuries. Rescue 81 with Deputy Chief hill arrived and crews stabilized the vehicles, and pre-pared for extrication. Deputy Chief Hill assumed operations of the extrication at this time. E-4 and E-2 arrived next and assisted with the extrication of the operator in the truck and patient removal.

Two patients were transported by ALS/BLS in serious but stable condition by ground, due to aviation being down for weather. Chief Sheridan placed the incident under control at 2008 hours. Last 81 units were placed into service after the vehicles and debris were cleared from the roadway.
