Laurel Fire Dept. Dedicates Memorial Monuments - Laurel Fire Dept.

Laurel Fire Dept. and Ladies Auxiliary conducted a dedication of its new Memorial Monuments on Sunday afternoon November 9th. Donations have been made to the Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary by families of deceased lifetime members, Gerald Brown, Jr., Eddie Massey, Edward Scott, Charles James, Clifford F. Lee, Eleanor Elliott, Minnie Kyttle and Mr. and Mrs. Linwood O’Neal. The Monument contains the names of forty-eight members of the Laurel Fire Department and fifteen members of the Ladies Auxiliary who had served for 20 years or more. Speakers included, Laurel Fire Dept. President Bill Hearn, Dep. Chief Jeff Hill, SCVFA Vice-Pres. Biff Lee, Sussex Chief’s President Joe Morris, Jr. and Sussex Ladies Past President Stacey Northam-Smith. An address was given by Laurel Fire Dept. Past President Lawrence Elliott and Ladies Past President Dixie Northam, both of whom were instrumental in completing the project.
