Another Arson Fire - Mt Pleasant Rd

On April 27th at 6:09PM, The Laurel Fire Department, along with the Sharptown and Delmar Fire Departments were alerted for a structure fire on Mt Pleasant Rd. 81 Command with Fire Chief Steve Brittingham responded and was advised of a 2 story abbanded house with fire showing from the 2nd floor. On arrival Brittingham advised EOC structure was fully involved with exposures to near by woods and sheds. 81-2 arrived with Assistant Chief Jeff Hill and was advised by command to do an exterior attack and to assume operations. Next arriving unit from Sharptown supplied Eng 81-2 and put 2 additional lines in service. Other arriving units were given the assignment of extinguishing the near by woods and assisting the other crews. At the time of story, FM-16 was believed to have suspects involved in starting the structure. Brittingham placed Sit U/C at 6:46PM and the last units cleared at 7:30PM.
