The officers and members of the Laurel Fire Department are excited to inform everyone that what was once just a vision and a few documents, is now taking life in the form of a new substation to be constructed on the East side of the departments district. The Gerald W. Brown, Jr. Sycamore Station will be built on Fire Tower Road just to the North of the intersection of Sycamore Road. The building committee is very pleased with the progress so far and is impressed with the assistance from those helping to make this a reality. Delaware Architects, Cabe Associates, and The Whayland Company are unbelievable assets to the committee and we look forward to finishing the project with their help and guidance. Currently, the department’s substation is operated out of a building owned by our past president and deeply missed member Gerald Brown. Gerald’s family has continued to let us use the building until we can move into a new firehouse. Please continue to check back often for updated progress on this project.
