Working Structure Fire - Woodland Ferry Road

On January 25th the Laurel, Blades, and Seaford Fire Departments were alerted for a structure fire on woodland ferry road. Asst. Chief Whaley arrived on scene to find a house with fire showing from the garage area. First arriving E 81-2 firefighters advanced a 1 ¾ inch hose line into the garage and extinguished bulk of the fire. Additional firefighters from Blades and Seaford advanced back up lines into the structure and checked for extension. The fire was contained to the garage and kitchen area of the home, however smoke damage was obtained throughout the structure. Asst. Chief Whaley placed the incident under control in about an hour.
